For Performers
If you've been cast in a show — or you're auditioning for one — this is the page that gets you oriented. Most of what you need is in two places: your portal at app.musicalendars.com and the calendar that lands on your phone.
Signing in
You sign in with the email your company invited you on, using either Google or Microsoft. There's no MusiCal-specific password — whatever sign-in method matches your email is what you use.
If your company invited you and you haven't received the invitation, check your spam folder; if it's not there, ask your director or company admin to resend.
Your calendar
Once casting is final and your company's stage manager has built the rehearsal schedule, your calendar populates automatically. From your portal you can either:
- Subscribe by ICS — copy the link into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook. Your phone's calendar app then refreshes on its own. New rehearsals, schedule changes, and notes appear automatically — no need to re-import.
- Download a PDF — printable, one page per month, useful if you want a hard copy in your script.
You only see the rehearsals you're called to. If you're double-cast or in ensemble, your calendar shows your specific calls — not the other cast's.
Audition forms
If you're auditioning, the company has shared a public form link with you (typically app.musicalendars.com/forms/<key>). The form takes you through:
- The basics: name, contact, the role(s) you're interested in.
- Your prior experience and any uploads (headshot, resume, video).
- A conflict calendar — mark the dates you can't attend.
Submissions save automatically every few seconds, so you can stop and come back. When you finish, you'll get a confirmation email; if there are callbacks, you'll get a separate email with a slot to pick.
Accepting or declining an offer
When the company decides on casting, you'll get an email with a private link to a single page that shows the role you're being offered and a button to accept or decline. You don't need an account to use the link — clicking through is enough.
Once you accept, you'll be asked to confirm the email tied to your performer account. From there your calendar populates, and you'll see the role on your portal home.
Your bio and headshot
The first time you appear on a digital playbill, you'll be asked for a bio paragraph and a headshot. These travel with you across every show you do with the company — write your bio once, update it as new credits come in. Your portal's Profile page is where you manage both.

Common questions
- My calendar is empty. Casting may still be in progress, or your role's scenes haven't been assigned to specific rehearsals yet. Check with your stage manager.
- My ICS subscription isn't updating. Calendar apps refresh on their own schedule (Apple Calendar every few hours, Google up to 24h). To force a refresh, remove and re-add the subscription.
- The form won't submit. Required fields are highlighted in red — scroll up to find a missed one.
